Before studying the particular civilizations of the Classical Period, but after reading the introduction to this time period, what do you believe was the biggest change that occurred during this time period?
I think that the development of trade and trade routs was the biggest change that occurred during the classical period. the formation of the silk road led to the spread of culture, language and trade goods. before this time people were limited to what resources were immediately accessible. the new trade routs enabled people to move further away from the rivers and start new cities elsewhere. by being less dependent on producing necessities the people had time to learn specialty jobs, like smithing or writing. having the time to do these jobs enabled society to become more advanced.

david!! hey!! so i totally agree with u and saying that the spread of language was a big deal. If we didn't start trading things including languages, we wouldn't be able to speak hebrew!!!! ...actually maybe thats a good thing.. lol good job!!

that is an interesting idea david, i think i might just disagree, i think that it was probably how people went from small cities and hunter gatherer parties too large civilizations, also like farming, but your idea is good too
